12/31/2008- Companies 57, 47, 45, 52 and 72 were dispatched to Vista Lane in Upland for a building fire. Upon arrival of 57-9, advised there was stove fire that was out with light smoke condition. Engine 47 arrived on location and remained at the staging area. 57-9 held with company 57 and recalled the assignment.
12/31/2008- Companies 47 and 57 were
dispatched to Gideon Rd and Powell Rd. for a vehicle fire. 47-9B
arrived first to find a vehicle well involved. Tac 57 arrived and
started to extinguish the fire, Upon the arrival of Rescue 47,
crews set up a water supply and assisted 57 with fire extinguishment.
Crews remained on scene until the fire was extinguished and vehicle was
towed.
12/28/2008- Company 47 was dispatched to the 1600 block of Powell Road for a natural gas leak outside. upon the arrival of Engine and Rescue 47, crews began investigating in the area of 1600 block of Powell Road. 47-9 also had Company 52 dispatched to assist along with PECO. After Company 52 and PECO arrived, they checked the area, After finding that PECO was unable to find any abnormal readings, all companies returned available.
12/28/2008- Companies 57, 47, 52, and 45 were dispatched to Crozer Chester Medical Center, for a fire alarm. Engine 47 arrived on location and stood by until the situation was placed under control by 57-9.
12/28/2008- Companies 47,52,57,68,63, and Rescue 40 were dispatched to Pyromet for a fire alarm. Upon the arrival of 47-9, 47-9B and Truck , they found that nothing was showing. Rescue 47's crews made entrance through a open side door on the school. Crews from Truck 63 and Rescue 47 investigated the interior of the school, and found two broken pull stations for the alarm. Once the interior of the building was investigated and found to be clear. Once the alarm was reset Rescue 47 and truck 63 returned available.
12/27/2008- Companies 47, 68, Medic 45-7, and Medic 100 were dispatched to I95 Southbound for a accident. Upon the arrival of Medic 100, he advised 47-9 that there was no injuries and no fluids on the highway and that there was no need for the fire response. 47-9 then recalled the assignment.
12/27/2008- Companies 52 and 47 were dispatched to 422 Sir Galahad Drive , Brookhaven , for a fire alarm. 52-9 arrived on location with nothing showing from the exterior, he investigated the interior of the house, and found that it was only burned food in the kitchen. 52-9 held the response with company 52, and recalled 47.
12/25/2008- The Officers and Members of Station 47 would like to wish everybody a safe and happy holiday season.
12/25/2008- Companies 52, 57, 47, 45, 50, and 65 were dispatched to the Brookhaven Post Office for a building fire, reported to be smoke inside of the building. Company 47 was recalled shortly after the arrival of 52-9.
12/24/2008- Companies 47, 52, 57 and M45-7 were dispatched to Powell Road for a building investigation. Engine 47 arrived on location with nothing showing from the exterior. Crews found that the electrical socket in the living room where the Christmas tree was plugged in had overheated. Crews disconnected and secure outlet. 47-9B placed situation under control and placed companies available.
12/23/2008- Companies, 47, 68, and 52-7A, were dispatched to cover station 62 (S.M. Vaculain) while they were in service at a working fire in Leedom. Rescue 47, 68-2, and 52-7A arrived on location and stood by until company 62 returned back into service. Companies covering station 62, responded to a car fire on I-95 southbound. Upon the arrival of 68-2, Rescue 47 and 52-7, crews found a vehicle with the engine compartment fully involved. Crews from 68-2 and Rescue 47 extinguished the fire and returned to Station 62.
12/21/2008- Company 47 was dispatched to assist the Aston Township Companies on a building Fire. Shortly after the arrival of 63-9B, The source was found to be a problem with a heater. At that time 63-9B recalled the assignment.
12/21/2008- Companies 47, 68, 52, and Medics 81-7 and 83-7 were dispatched to I-95 Southbound for an MVA. Rescue 47 arrived to find a 9 vehicle pile up with a few injuries which were being handled by the medics. Crews from 47, 68 and 52, cleaned up the debris, once all of the vehicles were off of the roadway, all companies returned available.
12/20/2008- Throughout most of the morning and the afternoon, Company 47 escorted Santa throughout the entire township and handed out candy canes to the children. Once the township was completed, Company 47 returned to the station, and Santa went back to the north pole.
12/17/2008- Companies 47, 52, 57, 68, 63, and 61 were dispatched to Carter Ave for a fire alarm. Tower 61 arrived on location with nothing showing, and found that it was a heater backfire that caused the alarm. Once ventilation was complete, and the heater was shut off, 47 command put all units available.
12/16/2008- Companies 47 was dispatched to Rainer Rd. for an odor of investigation of paint. Upon the arrival of 47-9, he reduced the speed.. Upon arrival of the Rescue the crew checked the house for the odor of paint. No odor was found but the crews noticed an outlet that was burned. After further investigation of the outlet it was found the face plate burned a grove in the prongs of the TV outlet. After checking the wall for any heat with nothing found the companies secured the outlet and went available.
12/16/2008- Companies 47, 52, 63, 57, 68, 63 and medic 81-7 were dispatched to Tri-State Sports for a fire alarm. Crews from Co. 63 were the first to arrive and found that the alarm was accidentally hit by a ball. The assignment was then recalled.
12/14/2008- companies 47,52,57,68,and 63 were dispatched to Automatic Vending on Felton Ave. , for a fire alarm. Rescue 47 and Ladder 68 arrived with nothing showing. Crews Checked the building and found that there was no evidence of smoke or fire from the building, and a heat gun and thermal imager were both used to check the building. After the building was checked, 47 command placed all units available.
12/13/2008- Companies 47,57,52,68,63 and Medic 81-7 were dispatched to Pyromet for a Fire Alarm. Upon the arrival of 47-9, he had nothing showing from the exterior but an alarm sounding inside of the building, 47-9 was also advised that the police had made contact with cleaners who were on location. At that time, 47-9 held the assignment to 47 and 52 to check the building, once completed, companies returned available.
12/13/2008- Companies 47 and 68 were dispatched to the 2300 block of Bethel Road for a vehicle fire. Rescue 47 arrived on location, and found vehicle fully involved. Crew stretched 1 3/4" hose line and began extinguishing fire. 68-2, Engine 47 and 47-8, and assisted in extinguishing the fire. After fire was extinguished, 47-9B placed situation under control and company returning and available.
12/13/2008- Companies 57,52,47,63,45, and R.I.T. 39 were dispatched to 900 main street, in Upland, for a dwelling fire. 57-1 went responding, and was advised by fire board that the police were on location, and confirming that there was just a tripped breaker in the apartment. the police advised that there was no fire, and to recall the fire companies. 57 command held with 57-1 to investigate, and returned the remainder.
12/11/2008- Tonight a few members escorted Santa Clause to the Township building on Rescue 47. Once at the Township building, Santa greeted the children and the members assisted him give out the gifts.
12/11/2008- Companies 47, 68, and Medic 81-7 were dispatched to I-95 south at the bridge for an MVA. Upon the arrival of M81-7, there was no need for any fire apparatus and the assignment was recalled.
12/10/2008- For weekly drill, the company went did pump operations on Utility 47 at the station and Rescue 47 in the I-95 industrial Park.
12/9/2008- Company 47 was dispatched to Incinerator Rd. for a brush fire. 47-9 went responding, and was advised by fire board that 29 cars requested the fire company cancel the assignment, they stated that the fire had burned itself out. At that time, 47-9 recalled the assignment.
12/7/2008- Companies, 47, 40, 52, 57 and 63 were dispatched to Pyromet for a fire alarm. 47-9 went direct to the scene and found an employee on location with smoke showing. Crews investigated and found smoke from the heater starting the cause of the alarm. 47-9 placed situation under control and companies available. While returning to the station, from the first fire alarm, Company 47 received a copy and respond back to Pyromet for the fire alarm again. 47-9 advised that Engine 47 along with 47-9B would be responding to investigate. Engine 47 arrived on location and found that the alarm was set off again by the smoke from the heater. 47-9B placed situation under control and placed company 47 returning and available.
12/6/2008- Companies 47, 40, 52, 57, 63 and 68 were dispatched to Townsend Street for a tripped fire alarm. When 47-9 went responding, fire board advised him that the alarm was tripped by cooking and that the alarm company asked for cancel. 47-9 requested for companies to respond at reduced speed. Upon the arrival of 47-9, he held with 52-1, Rescue 40 and Engine 47 for ventilation. Crews remained on scene for about 15 minutes
12/6/2008- Companies 47,52,68,63,40,57 and Medic 81-7 were dispatched to the Village Charter School. Upon the arrival of 47-9, crews gained entry into the building. After further investigation, the alarm was found to be tripped by a pull station that was knocked down. After checking the rest of the building all companies returned available.
12/6/2008- Companies 47 and 52 were dispatched to Bridgewater rd for an accident. On their way to the fire alarm at Pyromet, 57-l came upon the accident. After cleanup was done and vehicles were removed from the roadway, all companies returned available.
12/4/2008- Companies 52,57,47,45,65,50,and 54 were dispatched to 5200 Hill Top Drive, Apartment C-2 for a building fire. 52-1 went on location with nothing showing, and sent their crew in to investigate. 52-12 Advised fire board that it was burned food, and that the situation was under control. 52-12A held the response to 52-1, and recalled the remainder of the assignment. 47 remained off radio.
12/1/2008- Companies 47, 52,57,68, and 63 were dispatched to the Pyromet Corporation for a fire alarm. When 47-9 went responding, he was advise by fire board that the police were on location reporting a problem with the alarm and that there was no fire. At that time, 47-9 cancelled the assignment. |
